 On
May 8, 1969, I was born the second of six children to Pastor and
Mrs. Rodger Bottrell in Moline, Illinois. My father now pastors
in New York and over the years has had the privilege of starting
three churches.
Being a pastor’s son, I heard the Gospel at a very early age. On
January 1, 1980, I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. God
began to work in my life like never before, and two years later,
He called me to preach. At the age of 18, the Lord led me to
Bible college where I met my wife Cindy.
One year after graduation, the Lord led us to Brogue,
Pennsylvania, to work under the ministry of Pastor Randy Starr.
The Lord truly blessed our ministry at Mt. Zion for more than a
decade. As associate pastor, choir director, camp director,
soul-winning director, youth pastor, and VBS director, my hands
were full, and my heart overjoyed. To be a part of the change in
so many lives has not been taken for granted. In April 2003, I
graduated from seminary with a Masters Degree in Ministry.
On April 25, 2004, God led us to start Hunt Valley Baptist
Church. We are excited to see God working in lives through the
ministry of HVBC. We hope you will consider visiting with us
