Update from Pastor & Family:

Our first “Round-up Sunday” was anticipated with much
enthusiasm. The Bottrell boys were so excited they had
their cowboy outfits laid out a week in advance. On Sunday
morning, they were up and at ’em, jumping into their outfits
with enthusiasm. Joe, who is now four, was the first to be
dressed and downstairs. His outfit was complete with a hat,
shirt, scarf, holster, and boots—everything but his pants.
His father said, “Joe, are you missing something?”
He replied, “Yes, I need a gun.” To a four-year old
cowboy, pants are optional. The Lord blessed that day with
101 in attendance, 1 saved,
and the Zigler family joining the church—Praise the Lord!
We are eager to discover
what blessings God has in store for us concerning a new
building. As we approach our
fourth anniversary, we are
OUT OF ROOM
and truly need God’s provision and
direction for the future.
New Families:
From Sam’s Club to Heaven!

God
is building our church. On Sunday mornings, we now average
100 in attendance, but it is even more encouraging to see
our Sunday evening
attendance increase to over 70. These are not just numbers,
but people and families
that God has led to
HVBC in miraculous ways. One example is the Yoon family. A
year ago, Mrs. Yoon was given a John/Romans church brochure
in the parking lot at Sam’s Club. She showed it to her
husband and they started attending church. One by one, each
family member came to know the Lord, and on November 18, I
had the privilege of baptizing all four of them. In
January, they will begin serving in various ministries. It
is an amazing thought—an entire family saved, baptized, and
added to the church, and it all started in the parking lot
at Sam’s.
Eight Hundred Miles to Church!

Another family added to our membership came through unusual
circumstances.
Through various events, God led the Hawthorne family to join
HVBC. However, at that time they lived 800 miles away in
Centralia, Illinois. This meant selling their house,
leaving a great job, and by faith, moving to Baltimore.
After God gave Les a job at the University of Maryland, they
moved on November 10. Moved for a better job? No! With
benefits, they took a 40% pay cut. So why did they move?
The Hawthornes believe that putting God first and attending
the right church is more important than a higher salary.
Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God,
and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added
unto you.” Please pray for the Hawthornes as they are
looking to purchase a home very soon.
