Sermons From Our Pulpit
In a world broken by sin and searching for hope, only the gospel of Jesus Christ brings true life and everlasting change. The Bible declares that the gospel is “the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16). At Hunt Valley Baptist Church, we believe preaching God’s Word is vital—because this world doesn’t need more opinions, it needs the truth of Scripture and the power of the cross.
Our media ministry digitally records all sermons preached from the HVBC pulpit including guest preachers who visit with us. All sermons are available upon request in our bookstore, and for your convenience on SermonAudio. To explore our preaching in a more organized way, we also invite you to visit our Sermon Series page, where you can browse current and past series designed to help you grow through the systematic teaching of God’s Word.

What does it mean to be truly great in God’s eyes? This message from Luke 14:12–14 challenges us to look beyond worldly measures like recognition, numbers, or personal gain, and instead embrace a life of humble, selfless service.
Jesus teaches that real ministry reaches those who cannot repay—the poor, the hurting, and the overlooked. True greatness is not found in seeking approval or praise, but in faithfully serving with a heart motivated by obedience and love.
Following Christ’s example, we are called to reject pride and pursue humility, trusting that God sees every motive and will reward faithfulness in His time. When our desire is to please Him above all, we can rest in His blessing—both now and for eternity.
